Basic Skills award
In April 07 Cockington Primary achieved the basic skills awars.
The Quality Mark is about recognising minimum standards in teaching literacy and numeracy. Attainment of this award is normally based on a close partnership between the Agency, Local Authority and schools. Over 5100 schools have our Quality Mark to date in England and Wales.
Cool Cats
‘Rewarding and promoting attendance’
Since the launch of our innovative to tackle absenteeism and reward regular attendance with have had excellent results.
Well over a third of the pupils in our school have attendance rates in excess of 98%. In addition to this a further 80 pupils have maintained their 100%.
We would like to thank the local amenities who donated their free tickets and special entry rates to our prize winners.

Healthy Schools Status
In the Spring term 07, Cockington achieved this status.
The four main areas of achievement are:
Personal, social, health education - to provide pupils with the knowledge , understanding and skills and skills to make informed decisions about their lives.
Healthy eating - so that pupils can make healthy food choices
Physical Activity - So that pupils understand how physical activity can improve health, and be part of their everyday life
Emotional health and well being - To help pupils understand and express their feelings, build confidence and improve their capacity to learn.
